The data set contains the focal mechanisms calculated for all earthquakes located in central and eastern Italy, from 1st August 2009 onwards and provided with more than 24 polarities. The latest version of the data set (11 February 2015) is composed by 1210 focal mechanisms related to 852 earthquakes. The latest calculated mechanism is related to the earthquake of 2014-12-21 at 15:51 (UTC). The picture to the right of the viewer shows the format in which search results will be displayed. For easier identification beach balls are color-coded according to the rake:

Red = Normal (rake between -60 and -120);
Blue = Reverse (rake between 60 and 120);
Yellow = Normal-Oblique (rake between -29 and -59 or between -119 and -149);
Brown = Reverse-Oblique (rake between 29 and 59 or between 119 e 149);
Green = Strike-Slip (rake between -30 and 30 or between -150 and - 180 or between 150 and 180).

It is also possible to download:
• A file (csv format) with the values calculated by fpfit (like a fpfit .sum file);
• The fppage of each earthquake (in .pdf format).
